	Rory is a professional musician as well as an innkeeper. Her primary instrument is piano, but she also enjoys playing the guitar and drums. Viola was her instrument in the local "Symphony by the Sea." She was lead vocalist and pianist in her own jazz group, and has played extensively throughout Rhode Island with other pop, rock and blues bands. Guests are often pleasantly surprised to be invited to a performance for them only in the conservatory while they enjoy the sunset on Newport harbor. He has a passionate interest in cooking, singing, music, and good conversation. He enjoys nothing more than provoking a lively exchange of ideas with guests on virtually any subject. With mellow jazz playing in the background, many mornings have found the guests lingering well beyond the normal breakfast time, deeply engaged in conversation with each other and Ric on subjects ranging from the economy or politics to art, music, and cinema, or just about life itself. Newport RI lodging guests come from across the United States, and much of the world. This adds immeasurably to the interest of the breakfast conversations. Rory and Ric have several commercial CD recordings, one of the projects was made in the spirit of sharing the joy of singing sea shanties.
