Newport Rhode Island Lodging Innkeepers With That Personal Touch

Rose is a professional musician as well as an innkeeper. Her primary instrument is piano, but she also enjoys playing the guitar and drums. Viola was her instrument in the local "Symphony by the Sea." She was lead vocalist and pianist in her own jazz group, and has played extensively throughout Rhode Island with other pop, rock and blues bands. Guests are often pleasantly surprised to be invited to a performance for them only in the conservatory while they enjoy the sunset on Newport harbor.  A New CD is about to be released that is a celebration of musical paradox. It contains arrangements which fuse seemingly incongruous genres, cultures and languages into a singular jazz experience. Rose also employs the talents of two of the best musicians, barring none, that she has ever heard.

Ric is gregarious by nature, and seems born to be an innkeeper. He has a passionate interest in cooking, singing, music, and good conversation. He enjoys nothing more than provoking a lively exchange of ideas with guests on virtually any subject. With mellow jazz playing in the background, many mornings have found the guests lingering well beyond the normal breakfast time, deeply engaged in conversation with each other and Ric on subjects ranging from the economy or politics to art, music, and cinema, or just about life itself. 

Newport RI lodging guests come from across the United States, and much of the world. This adds immeasurably to the interest of the breakfast conversations. 

Rose and Ric have just completed their first commercial CD recording, a first project made in the spirit of sharing the joy of singing sea shanties.  If you are lucky enough to witness the Tall Ships event in Newport, or if you are just interested in this art form, you may wish to receive some free song downloads.  Please send an email with your request.
